Key Projects

1) Tree Count Report – Mangaluru 2023

Contributed to Nitte University-led initiative by participating in a year-long field survey, manually counting and GPS-tagging 19,171 roadside trees across 50 wards of Mangaluru (with support from volunteers across multiple institutions). The report highlighted critical insights, including 6.24% public green cover, a 5°C rise in urban surface temperatures over recent decades due to tree loss and an estimated 2.5 million kg of annual carbon sequestration by existing trees.

2) Flora of Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru

Tree Mapping and Biodiversity Report

Played a key role in the biodiversity survey for Kempegowda International Airport (BIAL), Bengaluru, by GPS-mapping over 68,000 plants and trees, cataloguing more than 1,100 plant varieties (including 180+ rare and endangered species) across the 4,000-acre campus as part of a multi-member eco-team. The resulting report documented the campus as South Asia’s largest airport biodiversity park, featuring extensive forest belts and innovative elements like the ‘Tiger Wings’ vertical garden. Findings informed BIAL’s net-zero greenery masterplan.

3) AMARA Report-2025: Green Initiative Audit Report

Authored the report, directed the auditing and reporting for the AMARA-2025 citizen-driven green initiative, leading over 50 volunteers in geo-tagging and assessing more than 11,000 newly planted trees (encompassing 250+ species) across Mangaluru’s 60 wards, alongside 30,000 mangroves in the Netravati estuaries.
