Dr. Rashmi Rao

Dr. Rashmi Rao is a behavioural neuroscientist whose work bridges learning, cognition, anxiety and neurochemistry. With a strong foundation in behavioural and brain sciences she is adept at examining how anxiety influences learning, memory and decision-making using validated animal models.

Her research focused on decoding inherent and perturbed states of anxiety through non-invasive behavioural paradigms, ultrasonic vocalization analyses and molecular correlates. She has used approaches such as immediate early gene expression, HPLC-based neurotransmitter profiling, biochemical markers to understand neural mechanisms underlying emotion and cognition.
