In all, 16 students of the Centre for Advanced Learning (CFAL) in the city scored 150 marks and above out of 360 in the Joint Entrance Examination (Main), 2018 conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Navaneesha scored 303, Shreesha G. Bhat scored 278, and Anvith M. scored 231. The results were announced on April 30. The offline examination had been conducted on April 8 and the online examination on April 15 and April 16.
The JEE-Main ranks are considered for admission to the NITs and other Union government-funded technical institutes. The JEE-Advanced examination which is scheduled for May 20 is for admission to the IITs.
A majority of students in CFAL have qualified to appear for the JEE -Advanced.
Meanwhile, 643 students of Alva’s Pre-University College, Moodbidri qualified for JEE-Advanced. Among the toppers in the college are Shashank D. with 199 marks, Sachin Kumar with 183 marks and Mithun Kampale with 177 marks.
