IIT-JEE selections at CFAL: Press Release

8 students of CFAL’s first batch and 14 students of CFAL’s second batch successful in IIT-JEE 2011 / 12.

History is being made! For the first time ever, a large number of students from Mangalore have been selected in the IIT-JEE entrance examination. 8 students of CFAL’s first batch and 14 students of CFAL’s second batch have been selected in IIT-JEE 2011/12. Since CFAL’s class strength is 30 students, this implies a 26% selection rate in 2011 and 46% in 2012 – This is an impressive achievement considering the fact that selections into IIT’s is around 3%. CFAL’s admission rate is many multiples of the national admission rate.

The IIT’s are the most prestigious engineering institutions in India and are renowned throughout the world. Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is the entrance exam for the IIT’s – the most challenging engineering entrance examination in the country that tests candidate’s knowledge of mathematics, physics and chemistry.

CFAL’s principal Mrs. Severine Rosario described the rigorous training in which CFAL had trained 30 students each in its first and second batch. The 2 year training consists of 1,400 hours of class room training, tests and mock exams. Experienced and dedicated professors mentor the students and provide feedback on results. The course material is unique – it is tailor made for professional entrance exams including JEE, AIEEE, IISc, CET and BITSAT.

Mrs. Severine Rosario stated, “In previous years, selection to IIT-JEE from the region has been abysmal. There was a general opinion that getting into IIT was next to impossible and hence for engineering, AIEEE or CET was the preferred choice. CFAL was started with the vision of changing this attitude and the results speak for themselves. We have shown that there are very intelligent students in this region but there had been a lack of proper guidance and mentorship. Now that CFAL has overcome this void, students of this region can avail of quality education in Mangalore without having to relocate to distant places in order to qualify in competitive examinations.

“Quality is the main focus at CFAL – constant monitoring and mentoring, uncompromising academic quality and individual attention to students has contributed to this phenomenal success.”

CFAL is located at Kuntikan junction in Mangalore and principal Mrs. Severine Rosario can be contacted at (0824)2249220 / 9845737120.
