A city-based tutorial on Tuesday started a three-day practical classes to teach Science and Mathematics to students with the aim of getting them interested in science. The classes are held to ensure that future generations take up research in Science and Mathematics, said Severine Rosario, Principal, Centre For Advanced Learning (CAFL), which started the four-day classes on Tuesday.
Forty-two students, mostly from class 9 and 10, participated in the classes. Half of them were students from the tutorial centre and the rest were from outside the centre. Sujatha, former scientist at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and Suyash Dake, former IT professional, were resource persons for Physics at the centre.
H. Jayantha from St. Agnes Degree College will take the Chemistry class while G.K. Bhat from St. Aloysius High School will take Biology classes and Shrikanth Pai, a research student from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, will take the Mathematics class, said Ms. Rosario.
